Unbacked is designed with privacy at its core. Your data stays on your Mac. We don't upload files, scan your content, or send data to any cloud service.
Waitlist emails: If you join our waitlist, we collect your email address and optionally your backup tool preferences (Time Machine/Backblaze). This data is stored securely and only used to notify you when Unbacked launches.
No file data: Unbacked never uploads your files, folder names, or directory structures. All scanning and exclusion management happens locally on your device.
Email addresses collected through the waitlist are used solely to send you launch notifications. We will never sell, rent, or share your email with third parties.
Waitlist data is retained until you request deletion or unsubscribe. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us.
